- 1880 Train — Runs between Hill City and Keystone. If you’re camped in Hill City at Rafter J, the kids will love this and it’s a genuinely historic narrow-gauge railroad.
- Devils Tower National Monument (WY) — About 90 minutes northwest on I-90. A full day trip, but one of the most otherworldly landscapes you’ll see. Worth it if you have an extra day built into your trip.
